Reunion after sooooo long!!!

Woohoo!!! Yesterday had the best time of my life... 5A had a reunion at Kensington, Oakland yesterday and more than half the class turn up.. For those who didn't, I better see your faces the next time round.. =p

It was a great feeling, seeing old friends together again, some I haven't seen since I left school at the end of 2006... And as usual, we turn a nice western restaurant into a typical mamak stall... Hats off to the waiters and waitresses who patiently took our order and serving our food, they'll probably be thinking "I need a raise!!" LOL!!!

And as usual, we crap all the way from A-Z.. And Paulians are always famed of talking about any topic under the sun.. For example, a few of us started talking on economy, then to politics, then to something else and later to anime and finally to where is our next place for yam cha!! LOL!!! Told ya we're crazy... Also not to be forgotten are the pictures that we took, although most of them look dark and some are blur.. U can find them all Faidhi's & Narvin's FB profiles..

Totally awesome man yesterday, an evening not to be forgotten.. And sure, we'll plan a better reunion, this time try to get the whole class together... And find our next restaurant/mamak/stall to torture!!! HAHAHA!!! *grins evilly*

A good way to explain marketing!!!

This is possibly one of the best ways to explain marketing.. LOL!!

1. You see a gorgeous girl at a party. You go up to her and say: 'I am very rich. Marry me!' - That's Direct Marketing

2. You're at a party with a bunch of friends and see a gorgeous girl. One of your friends goes up to her and pointing at you says: 'He's very rich. 'Marry him.' - That's Advertising

3. You see a gorgeous girl at a party. You go up to her and get her telephone number. The next day, you call and say: 'Hi, I'm very rich. 'Marry me.' - That's Telemarketing

4. You're at a party and see a gorgeous girl. You get up and straighten your tie, walk up to her and pour her a drink. You open the door (of the car) for her, pick up her bag after she drops it, offer her a ride and then say: 'By the way, I'm rich. Will you 'Marry Me?' - That's Public Relations

5. You're at a party and see a gorgeous girl. She walks up to you and says: 'You are very rich! Will you marry me?' - That's Brand Recognition

6. You see a gorgeous girl at a party. You go up to her and say: 'I am very rich. Marry me!' She gives you a nice hard slap on your face. - That's Customer Feedback

7. You see a gorgeous girl at a party. You go up to her and say: 'I am very rich. Marry me!' And she introduces you to her husband. - That's demand and supply gap

8. You see a gorgeous girl at a party. You go up to her and before you say anything, another person come and tell her: 'I'm rich. Will you marry me?' and she goes with him. - That's competition eating into your market share

9. You see a gorgeous girl at a party. You go up to her and before you say: 'I'm rich, Marry me!' and your wife arrives. - That's restriction from entering new markets

And among all of them, number 6 looks possible almost every time.. HAHAHA!!!

IT' A FAKE!!!

And the death of Rupert Grin is.........

FAKE!!!!

Some asshole wrote it in Wikipedia and that drew a storm.. Luckily the moderators removed it, there's nothing to back it up!!

Phew, can breath easy again.. Looks like Harry Potter will still remain the same!! =D

Tragic losses

Tragedy happened in both the music and movie industry today..

The King of Pop, Michael Jackson passed away on Thursday after suffering a cardiac arrest.. He was a great singer and a good dancer.. Just at times controversy has been the downside of his career.. He'll forever be remembered as one of the greatest singers to ever lived.. And yes, his songs will be played even 50 years from now.. Goodbye Michael, may u rest in peace..

Another death and this I just stumbled across, don't know how true it is.. Rupert Grint, the actor who plays Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter series, passed away at St Bartholomew's Hospital in London, UK after reportedly suffered a massive stroke.. How true is that I'm not too sure myself, could be a fake, but if it's true, then it's yet another great loss to the industry..

Two blows in like 24 hours, that's gotta be hard to stomach..

*God I wish Rupert's death is fake..*

Eventful Wednesday..

Many things happened yesterday.. Let's start one by one..

First off, I managed to watch Transformers:Revenge of The Fallen yesterday.. I thought no one will watch the movie at 10.30am, being a school day and all.. How wrong I was.. The cinema was packed to the brim!! OMG!! And how was the movie?? Quite good.. Hats off to the producing team, the cinematography, CGI effects, sound, movie plot was awesome.. Have a few very funny moments and one very nice fight scene.. Although some hardcore fans might be wishing for more.. In the end it all depends on the audience, for me, I wish the last major scene would like be extended.. (won't spoil it for those who haven't watch it)

After lunch, I went fishing with Rahul.. Back to the same old place, the Rasah Kemayan Acturial Pond.. Luck wasn't on my side I guess, caught one small tilapia, but Rahul definitely had loads of luck, he caught about 7 fishes including one medium size one.. And we, being all excited and all, when to try our luck at the big pond.. And wouldn't u believe it, we managed to hook the big 'pacu' fish.. And man it was huge!!! Only for one small problem, it got away!! Had such a strong pull, Rahul was struggling to pull it up.. Sadly, we had to let it go, or not the whole rod might have been lost.. Oh well, guess it wasn't man to be, but if that was caught, fuuh!! BIG BBQ DINNER!!

And lastly... The best news I've received after that sad UPU result.. I GOT ACCEPTED FOR ADMISSION INTO AIMST TO STUDY MEDICINE!!! Woohoo!!! One of the student affairs operator called me up to inform me that I was accepted.. I hope I listened correctly and it wasn't a dream, I was fishing when they called up.. So now just have to pay my deposit and I'll be off to this place:
If everything goes well, I'll be leaving for their Semeling campus in Bedong, Kedah on 10th August.. Now I'll pray hard and hopefully I'll be able to get a loan.. HIP HIP HOORAY!!!

And yeah, USA freaking beat Spain man... 2-0!!! I was like OMG!!! Now will be the Brazil-South Africa match.. I'm betting for a USA-South Africa final.. Man I hope I'm right.. =D

Arrivals and Departures

Shifting the focus now on the footballing world..

Carlos Tevez is leaving Manchester United and possibly to local rivals Manchester City.. I wished he did stay at MU, he was quite a player, not the best but his determination, personality and work rate is just amazing.. And I was certain that with Ronaldo's departure, he would stay since the opportunity for him in the first team will like brighten up.. Alas, although MU was willing to meet the £25.5 million needed to secure his services as well as making him one of the highest paid players in MU, Tevez has other plans of his own..

So what now? Ronaldo gone (never gonna miss him one bit) and now Tevez.. Suddenly it looks like everything is going from bad to worse for MU.. Their two key players over the last two seasons suddenly disappear.. Have no fear, Alex Ferguson is here.. I'm sure he'll do some nice purchases during the summer.. There are talks that a £30 million bid was put up front for Karim Benzema.. Not to mention the £17 million for Antonio Valencia and also possibly Ribery.. Marcel Desailly has urged Fergie to bid "as much as it takes" to purchase Ribery.. The former French international has put him as the top two wingers in the world, the other being, you guessed it, Ronaldo..

The summer transfer rumours has been buzzing a lot (I'm just talking about MU).. Here are a list of potential arrivals and departures.. (some sound pretty bizzare if u ask me)

Arrivals:
Iker Casillas
Ashley Young
Douglas Costa
Fernando Torres
Sergio Aguero
Samuel Eto'o
David Silva
Arjen Robben
David Villa
Joao Moutinho
and the 3 stated above - Antonio Valencia, Frank Ribery and Karim Benzema

Departures:
Nemanja Vidic
Nani
Fraizer Campbell
Darron Gibson
Danny Simpson
Gary Neville
Paul Scholes
and of course the two who already have left - Cristiano Ronaldo and Carlos Tevez

Gotta agree with me, some do look ridicolous.. Oh well, they still be 2 months of buzzling activity especially when the window opens in July.. Let's just keep a close watch and see what happens.. =p

It's decided..

Thank you all for your support, advise and er.. guidance?? LOL!! Thank u all!! I'm fine, don't worry, not in the suicidal line (or not I won't be posting this)

The last few days has really got me thinking over my future and I think I know where I am heading... I've applied for AIMST to do medicine, hopefully they'll accept me since they have the tendency to not take in outsiders..

The other option is to do pharmacy.. This two are the courses I wanted to do but alas can't appeal in the public university.. And I read the breakdown that was published by a newspaper, I guess it's quite expected..

And as for NUS, I think I'll reject the offer.. As some of you might know, the reasons are quite simple.. I'm just plain stubborn.. Haha.. You know what I mean from there.. =)

So to all my friends who got into local uni, congrats again and hope u'll be successful in your course and your future careers.. Hopefully we all still can meet up one day.. GAMBATEH!!

Reaction..

So how do I feel after knowing today's result? Dumbfounded I guess.. To not make it into medical was something I expected, my results wasn't that great to fight for a place.. However to not get anything at all, well, that's just shocking.. Left me blank there.. Totally.. And it even made me cry, cause I know my hopes are diminishing..

I stared at the monitor, hoping it was wrong.. Well, after trying 5 times I'm convinced it's right after all.. With my poor financial background, loan is the only option for me.. I still want to do medicine, but the fees are very expensive.. To look at my other alternative, NUS, a place that I have secure, it's not a course that I want but it could be something I'll have to resort too..

How can such a thing happen? Well, partly blame on me.. For putting competitive courses and for not ticking the part where they ask u will u accept any other course.. On the bright side, if I were given a course that I don't like, I might not have taken it either.. My friends got places in uni, but some got ridiculous courses.. So yeah, maybe there's a silver lining hidden behind this disappointment??

Over the course of the next few days, I'll have to carefully think of my future.. I might have to accept the reality that the dream that I have dreamed since I was a small boy may just forever be a dream.. Only God can guide me through this testing and challenging times and hopefully, an answer will come up..

Btw, congratulations to all those who made it into the local universities.. And for those who didn't, don't give up.. U and I are in the same boat..

Bye-bye Ronaldo, see ya, wouldn't wanna miss ya..

It's been a week since Manchester United agreed a fee for their superstar and World Footballer of the Year Cristiano Ronaldo.. £80 million, that's a lot of money to anyone, even to the likes of Bill Gates.. A few question remains thou.. Was he worth that much? Will MU take a turn for the worse? Will Ronaldo give the same performance which sparked his heavy price tag? Who'll replace him?

Let's look at the sum.. Sepp Blatter recently said that it's good since it shows that the footballing world still has a market.. Well, we can remember that guy for saying that MU was treating Ronaldo as a slave and also his remark on woman's football.. Not to mention he was the one who said that large sum of cash is ridicolous when buying a player a few years back.. So thank you Blatter but I think you should just keep your trap shut and retire for good..

Any player at his prime will command a high transfer fee, remember Luis Figo in 2000 and then Zinedine Zidane in 2001?? One would have imagine such fees wouldn't be possible again, especially with last year's economy crunch.. Guess Real Madrid had plans of their own.. After spending £55 million on Kaka just a few days ago, they took the world by storm with the purchase of Ronaldo.. Not to mention their near purhcase of David Villa for nearly £40 million.. Come to think of it, I think they've been robbing a bank or something.. To fund so much transfer.. Guess that'll blow their transfer kitty for the next 5 years.. Was it worth it? I think not, Ronaldo is overated.. Like totally.. Sure he gives a great show and score spectacular goals, but he's so full of himself.. I echo Zidane's opinion, "Selling Ronaldo could be the best thing that happens to MU!!"

"Selling your best players doesn't make you a better club"; that was someone's saying.. True to some extend.. However not in most cases.. When MU sold Beckham in 2003, everyone was saying "There goes the team".. Same case when Van Nistelrooy was sold in 2006.. I think there's a trend going on in MU, 2009 Ronaldo is gone.. And where's MU today?? 3 consetutive times league champions, European champions 2008 and runners-up 2009 and the first English club to win the World Club Championships.. And the trophys will just keep pouring in.. MU still has Rooney, Carrick, Berbatov, hopefully Tevez and young uprising lads such as Macheda, Gibson, the Da Silva twins, Anderson, Nani (hopefully) just to name a few.. So yeah, losing Ronaldo could be a blow, but there's only one player you wouldn't be able to replace in MU, Sir Alex Ferguson.. That's right, the manager himself..

Will Ronaldo live up to his price tag? Probably so.. However, history has a habit of repeating itself and many big money moves have turn up flops.. Veron wasn't that good, Robinho is on and off at times, Shevchenko has a torrid time at Chelsea and a lot more examples.. Zidane even state that Ronaldo might be pressured into performing while Quieroz (Portugal manager) isn't too happy that Ronaldo jumped the ship.. Not to mention what happen if you put Kaka and Ronaldo together.. Remember Lampard and Gerrard in the 2006 World Cup? We all have to wait for next season and see for ourselves..

And to who will replace him? I have to agree here, it'll be quite hard to replace a player, thou cocky and full of himself, as good as Ronaldo.. I guess the same was said when Cantona retired and Roy Keane happily filled that role.. Somebody will come eventually, either from the academy or some big signing.. Already rumours are spreading that Antonia Valencia, Frank Ribery and David Silva will be joining MU.. The first is almost confirmed, the price tag on the second is totally ridicolous and the third, well, not much on him either.. How about other buys? MU could use another good, hard battling midfielder and possibly a lethal striker.. Benzema's name has been ringing bells and even Torres's name came up.. As for the midfielder, if Hagreaves can recover that's good news, if not, we need another Roy Keane and fast.. =p

Overall, I think MU will do just fine next season.. I'm positive the Gaffer will spend the cash wisely and also on good purchases, he won't be as dumb to blow it all up on one player.. As for the title challenge, I see Liverpool will come close next season, possibly be brushed off at the very end.. After all, last season was a thriller!!

Boring, boring, boring

It's been more than a week since my last post and people might start thinking that I'm quitting my blog.. Truth is, I'm not quitting, just don't know what to write in it.. Sure, I can blab about the recent issues hitting Malaysia, building collapses, making English a compulsory pass in SPM, seeing the political bickering over and over again.. However, malaslah wanna blog, practically I guess it'll be the same as what the papers report, only it'll be my opinion.. Might consider later..

Anyway, it'll be only a few more days till D-Day.. Gosh, I used that word when STPM was nearby, and then the announcement of the results.. And now, I'm using it for our local universities application status.. The site has not changed it's time frame, it still says third week of June, however, newspaper has reported it to be announced on 19th June, which is this Friday after 12pm.. And we all can imagine the havoc that website is going to be.. Maybe I should bot my explorer to log into it 24/7.. XD

So what's next from there? If I do get the course that I desire the most, it'll be a great joy and comfort for me.. Cause not only I get what I want, but also for a very cheap price.. Throw me anyway, may it be near or far from home, I don't care.. However, the big question mark what will happen if I fail to secure a place? Well, a possibility is that I'll go private to study medicine.. Take a loan and repay it after I start work.. Where to? AIMST probably.. And if that fails? Maybe Russia?? God knows.. Hopefully everything will fall in place this coming Friday, it'll save me a hell lot of a trouble..

Not to mention I still have one or two more accounts that need to be done before I head off to anyway, can't leave work dangling now can we? I guess there's a benefit for working with your family members, thou there's practically no pay, but I get more freedom.. Haha!!

*When life gives u lemon, make lemonade!! And make sure it's a damn good one!!* =)

Fishing..

Yesterday I went fishing with 2 of my friends, Rahul and Kim Chai, at the actuarial pond near my area.. It was a first time experience for me and like anything that I do for the first time, I'm pretty clueless about it.. Luckily Rahul thoughts me and Chu how to fish, if not I think we'll be figuring how to use the fishing rod.. =p

Fishing takes a lot of patience, so if your the person who can't stay still for 30 minutes, don't bother trying, actually, u need to stay still for like 3 hours, cause that's the standard charge.. And they charge per rod, so we had two rods, bringing it a total of RM 30 for 3 hours.. OK, 3 hours, how hard can it be to catch one fish?? SUPER HARD!! The whole time we're there we caught only one small fish at the very end, and Chu decided to take it home and rare it.. I was fishing weeds instead of fish, guess I'm still a newbie at this..

I guess it comes down to luck when fishing.. There were two boys at the same pond with us and they caught like 10-15 medium size fishes.. That's a lot of luck I tell you.. Some people can sit there for hours and catch nothing and some can just sit for a few minutes and catch 2-3 fishes.. However, learning how to fish is quite exciting and relaxing, u get to sit down and chat with your friends, get excited at every little movement of your rod and of course if u brought food and drinks, u can turn it into a picnic.. Haha..

In the end, it was a worthwhile although not fruitful experience.. Next time hopefully we can catch enough to do dinner for a few people!! =)

100th post...

Fuuh.. So finally my blog hit it's 100th post.. Quite amazing thou.. Cause when I started this blog back in Nov 08, I didn't expect it to reach this far.. I thought, OK, maybe another project for me where I get all excited in the beginning and slowly the fire will die down.. Didn't happened that way, unlike my previous blog in Friendster.. That's long gone by now..

I guess the reason why I keep on posting is because people keep on reading.. I mean, if u don't have people reading your blog, than what's the purpose of it anyway? Rather just keep your thoughts in a diary, safe from the eyes of others, never letting out your secret..

Blogs are a great way to express yourself.. Sure u can occasional feedbacks from others, a lambaste once in a while, but hey, it's your thoughts, your ideas, your expressions.. You can use all those comments to improve yourself and it actually brings a positiveness in you, but in the end, you express it the way you want to..

So to all those bloggers out there, KEEP BLOGGING!! Haha.. Then the world won't be soooo dull.. XD

As 19th June draws near..

Things has been pretty quiet these days.. Nothing much has been going on..

Doing the calculations, there's about 2 weeks left before we know our uni result.. I think most of you should know this by now, on 19th June at 12 noon, the doors to the UPU will be opened and I can just imagine the congestion the website is going to face.. Might as well just wait until at night to go and check..

And what's next after that? Well, in my case, if I get what I want, all the better.. Local uni is cheap and isn't that bad, except for the usual stuff, some bullying here and there, racial stuff, etc.. However, if I don't get what I want, now there's went the dilemma will appear.. Decisions, decisions, decisions.. Just hope it won't be a tough one.. Good luck and God bless everyone!!

(Oh well, was hoping for one more holiday but it was not meant to be, too short already and pockets are full of spider webs.. Guess the last outing will be Transformers.. YIPEE!!)
