Robbery victim can sit for UPSR in hospital
SEREMBAN: The Year Six pupil, who suffered serious injuries when he was slashed on the head by robbers, can sit for his UPSR examinations at the Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital here.
The assurance came when state Education Department officers visited Thoo Jia Wei and his family yesterday.
Jia Wei’s aunt, who did not wish to be identified, said even the headmaster of SJKC Sin Hua had given the family a similar assurance when he visited him on Tuesday.
“Jia Wei is already on the road to recovery and was transferred from the intensive care unit to a normal ward yesterday morning.
“He has started speaking and our hope is that he will be discharged by then (before the exams),” she said.
The victim, his 46-year-old mother and 15-year-old brother were asleep in their bedrooms when the robbers armed with parang broke into their double-storey terrace house through the back door early Monday.
The robbers fled after searching the house for valuables, leaving behind two parang. Three more parang, a blood-stained glove and a green T-shirt believed to be left behind by one of the robbers were also found nearby.
It was a great relieved to hear that the boy has awoken from his coma and is now in a normal ward. The good thing is that he doesn't seem to be suffering from any memory lost and it won't be long for him to be discharged from the hospital.
This is really the work of the great healer and I am sure He has plans, big plans for this young boy in the future.. And I really hope the people behind this would be caught and be brought to justice so they may never harm another again!!

Boy in a coma after being slashed by robbers
SEREMBAN: An 11-year-old boy who was to sit for his UPSR examination later this month is fighting for his life after being slashed by robbers at his home in Taman Ujong near here.
The boy, who suffered head injuries in the 4.30am incident yesterday, is in a coma at the Tuanku Ja’afar Hospital intensive care unit.
It is learnt that the victim, his 46-year-old mother and 15-year-old brother were asleep in a bedroom upstairs when five masked men armed withparang broke into their double-storey terrace house through the back door and woke them.
“The victim, who screamed on seeing the robbers, was slashed on the head in anger by one of them,” said a police spokesman, adding that his mother was prevented from shouting for help when one robber placed aparang on her other son’s neck.
“The men then tied the hands and legs of the woman and the elder son before searching the house for valuables,” he said, adding that the robbers fled the scene half an hour later.
Among the items found in the house were five parang, a blood-stained glove and a green T-shirt.
The victim’s 46-year-old father, who wished to be identified only as Toh, said he was away on business in Rembau during the incident.
The above news appeared at the 3rd page of today's The Star newspaper.. And here's the thing, that boy so happens to be my church member.. Imagine the shocked that my entire family got when we found that out.. It was disheartening, saddening and of course, terrifying.. A young boy, with a great future ahead of him, fights for his dear life in the ICU.
The family devastated, the church members shocked, the public probably outraged.. And yet, with all odds stacked against the boy, he has awoken from his comatose state and is now sitting upright in the ICU.
PRAISE THE LORD FOR HIS GREAT HEALING HANDS HAS SAVED THE BOY'S LIFE!!
The Lord will never let harm come onto his people and this is another testimony to His wonder. The boy was fighting for dear life 24 hours ago and now he has made a recovery. Although he is still in the ICU, I'm positive he'll recover soon enough, seeing he still can recognize his parents. Let us all continue to uphold this boy in prayer while also praying that justice will be served to those robbers.. Everything will be fine, yes, I know everything will be fine.. =)
